There is a separate legend about Goa Hawang. Inside the cave there is a stone symbolizing a male hunter who holds a spear and two dogs go hunting wild boar.
When chased by a boar it suddenly disappears when it enters a cave. Because he was tired and thirsty chasing wild boar, the man drank the water of the cave was very bitter at that time. Angry and disappointed with the taste of water, the hunter throws dirty words, profanity, and causes him and his two dogs to be cursed to turn to stone. Stone people with dogs are still eternal today.
The Hawang name is interpreted in Indonesian meaning spirit. Most of the local people still believe that in the cave which has the beauty of a pool of very clear water along with beautiful stalactites, there are still many inhabited by spirits. Therefore, tourists who come are prohibited from cursing profanity, committing evil or other dishonorable actions. In addition to Hawang Cave, Evu’s natural bath is also a complement when traveling.
