Menjangan Island
Menjangan Island is located in the north of the West Bali National Park area. Precisely in the village of Klampok, Grokgak District, Buleleng Regency, Bali, or about 60 km from Lovina. You will travel about 3 hours from the tourist center of Kuta and 4 hours drive from Denpasar.
To reach this island, you have to cross by boat (boat) for 30-45 minutes from Lalang Port. During the trip you will be treated to volcanic views in East Java to Prapat Agung, combined with clear blue sea. At the Port of Lalang, the facilities provided are complete, such as restaurants, inns, bars, and much more.
The island, which is known as the best wall diving in Bali, has an underwater park with good visibility and is colorful and rich in marine life. Menjangan Island is surrounded by coral reefs and complex rock formations.
The rock formations form a number of large and small caves which are habitats for coral reefs, soft corals, groupers (from the Serranidae family, red.), And Moray Eels (from the Muraenidae family, red). In small caves, Kakap and Batfish (from the Ogcocephalidae family, ed.) Are often seen back and forth. The seabed is also rich in Sponge Barrel (Xestospongia testudinaria, red.) And the Sea Fan (from the Order of Gorgonacea, red.) Is very large. The depth of the sea and the calm flow make the underwater park around Menjangan a place to live for Tuna, a group of Jackfish (from the Carangidae Family, red.), Angelfish (from the Pomacanthidae Family, red.), Various types of turtles, and reef sharks.
In certain months we can see tourist attractions from wildlife including a group of migrating dolphins, a group of timor deer or (also known as, red.) Deer (Cervus timorensis, red.) That cross from Menjangan Island to the peninsula Prapat Agung and vice versa, also under the sea we can see green turtles (Chelonia mydas, red.) Seen among coral reefs, but it is not yet certain whether they land on the mainland of Menjangan Island or Prapat Agung Peninsula. Besides its charming underwater beauty, the potential the land also offers charm from Menjangan Island which is no less beautiful.
Walking along Menjangan Island by tracking from Post 1 to Post 2, we can find a number of species of birds such as Perkutut (Gleopelia striata, red.), Mountain Glasses (Zosterops montanus, red.), Peking Bondol (Lonchura punctulata, red.), Srigunting Gray ( Dicrurus leucophaeus, red.)
